Hello Members,
In past posts there has been several discussions about safety and taking appropriate precautions. We have even read about some of our forum member's personal stories where an injury has occured. On another forum I read about a woodworker that was in a hurry and rather than taking the time to go get his ladder he chose to use his workmate to stand on. It collapsed, he fell and as a result of his fall was paralyzed. It was a heart wrenching story to read especially when you realized the accident was totally preventable. We all know safety in the woodworking workshop should always come first, but sometimes we need a reminder.

Barb Sidiqqi has written her next article about how you can stay safe in your workshop and get the best performance out of your equipment. The interesting thing to note is that the two go hand in hand. Well maintained and regularly 'tuned' equipment is safer to use. Take some time to read her informative article. You'll find it on the home page under Starting Points.

Stay safe,

Kay Strait
