I am really glad to see so many other women interested in woodworking-I do not know of anyone in my area-southwest Iowa, but I know I love it- I have my own shop and have been doing various forms of woodworking over 3 years, but now am in to larger items such as tables and benches. I make pretty simple things so far for practice purposes, but could sure use some tips on where I might find some woodworking shows in this area. I would love to attend some-most are either west or east. I am pretty much on my own in all of my learning except for shows or books which have helped a great deal. I use all types of tools and am scared most of the time of my table saw, but use it frequently anyway (ha)It is hard when you are a women to know about how to use some of these tools properly or how to set them up. I am just happy to see so many other women interested in woodorking.

Welcome to the Forum! This is a great place to check often, we get a lot of really good discussions, and tips. There are some great problem solvers here. Sometimes you feel alone in your own part of the world and then you come here and find out there alot of woodworkers out there, and some even make a living at it.
Don't be scared of the tools but respect them, a little fear has been good because it makes you think about what you are doing. A few mouths ago there was a long discussion on this and you are not the only one!

Stop by often.
