RE: New Forum Software
I miss 2 days on the board and look what happens--This is nice going to take some getting used to though. I hate change but I have learned one thing the only thing that is certain in life is change!
Nice job on the new look, I like it even though I won't admit it.

RE: New Forum Software
Whew, here you are!
I spent a few days going to the usual site and wondering "where is everyone? I guess they're very wrapped up in their projects"
Yes, i did see some note about "Archive", but i didn't think anything of it. espcially when i saw the occasional new reply to an old post.
Can't believe "it" didn't register with me sooner. In fact, in retrospect, it's embarassing. But I write this post in part to say a clearer message might help some of us and, in part, to say i'm glad this forum is as delightful as ever. Hope everyone gets (back) here soon.

RE: New Forum Software
Kay,
Does this new software have spell check? I'm the world's worst speller. And,.......I haven't figured out how to use the emotion icons yet. Other than than that, I like this new forum software.

RE: New Forum Software
I like many features of this new forum software, but I miss one thing from the old software: It used to be easy to find not only the topics with new messages, but also the new messages themselves. This new software only seems to mark the former -- unless I am missing something, which would come as no great surprise! Also, what does the "flame" icon signify?

RE: New Forum Software
Aha! I found out an answer to my first question -- if you click on the "Expand the threads" link, it not only expands the threads (ie, it shows links to all the messages in each thread) but also indicates which messages are new. I guess I'll keep experimenting ... still can't figure out what the flame is all about!

RE: New Forum Software
Its possible the flame means hot topic..maybe after 10 postings??? That is only my guess..
