    buying wood onloine

I want to build a mantle clock for my dad for chirstmas. I have found the clock but can not find the wood in the sizes I need locally. So I want to see if I can find it on line but I ma not sure where to go.

    You might try Wood Finder.

    Wall Lumber

I have used Wall Lumber a number of times for smaller projects. There 1/2" lumber is exquisite...beautifully machined. No waste. I make use of their UPS packs when I can.

I've had great results from the Lumber Lady (http://www.lumberlady.com), she's happy to sell just about any wood you need (although she specializes in exotics) and will mill it to whatever extent you need; and no excessive shipping charges.

I have never heard any bad feed back about Wall Lumber. They are the first for me to recommend also.
Be sure to do some price comparisons.

I am expecting this week my first ebay lumber purchase. If you search there for lumber and then do a local search you may even find someone in your area.
