Two tone design opinion
I posted this earlier as a guset and it did not show up. If it does later I'm sorry.
I am going to build an entertainment armiore. I would like it to be Scandinavian in style. I am going to do raised panen doors with 1/4 inch curly maple plywood as the panel. I got some the other day that was perfect on both sides and had alot of "Frise" and birds eyes on it. Very cool I could not pass it up. I was thinking that I would like to make the rest of the piece in a different wood since I can not get the solid to match the ply. I am not going to stain the piece, just lacquer. I would like a wood combination that retains the contemporary look but will be timeless. I am concerned that if I choose a dark wood that the combo will become old.
I did some end tables once with curly maple tops, just lacquer and pine bottoms, stained golden oak. The tables are bueatiful but I am not crazy about the color combo.
Anyone have any thoughts? I am terrible with the color design aspect of things.
