    Plans for wooden Jack-In-The-Box

Does anyone know where I may find plans for a homemade wooden jack-in-the-box? Or, does anyone know what sort of mechanism is used to make the boxes pop open? I've always wanted to make and paint one of these, but cannot seem to find info on them anywhere! Thanks!

How interesting .. I like the project. I did a search on google for you and came up with this site. See http://www.handcranktoys.com/parts.htm
Maybe this can help. If not do another search for the items. Hope it helps.

Where'd I put that confounded screwdriver???? Oh my goodness! I have googled my brains out, and never come up with this!!!!!!! I never thought to type in handcrank toys!!!!!!!!!!! I have been searching for info on this for nearly 10 years. You have made me a happy woman, and I am forever in your debt. Now, as for saws. I think I have a Black & Decker circular saw extra. It works fine, or did last time I used it. If you are interested, I'll pull it out of the basement & make sure it's good to go.I don't have a lot extra in the way of power tools, but I have collected massive quantities of hand tools over the years, and if you could be specific as to what you need most, I may could help. Don't you just hate a thief? If I were you I'd be bawling my eyes out while gunning for the culprit!!!!!!

I am glad you found what you needed. I am good at internet reseaching and thought I would give it a shot. Yes, I am gunning but what can I do but start over for tools. The saw would be terrific. I lost hammers, carving tools, screwdrives, small clamps, anything you can use to make boxes, cabinets and all...you name it. I do alot of different types of projects. If you have anything you dont use .. I would be so appreciative ...
