    Long shot looking for help

    Hi ladies
I am looking for a set of plans for a farm set that my Dad built for us when we were kids. This was early to mid 60's. I think it was called Jelly Bean Farm and I believe the plans were in a "ladies" magazine of the day. Thoughts? Any help would be appreciated. I still have one door. Sad but true. Keep up the sawdust!

    Long shot looking for help

    Joanne,
I did a google and found what you probably found that there are a lot of quilts and patterns for that item. It seems like the craft article was in 1952 or so and way beyond their archiving. When I first started out in woodworking in 1963, I used to cherish the Sept issue of WD each year. They would have wood projects that covered pages and offered free plans. I did a lot of different jewelry chests for ladies in my life (wife, mother sister, and since have made for daughter and others. I even had an interview with them in that they had a small projects staff and workshop. And many many other projects, ...it was a wonderful source...but they changed direction and I lost touch with it.
I would go to a library and see if you can get old issues.

Woodworker's Journal received an email over the weekend from a reader who remembered this discussion thread when he ran across the "Jelly-Bean Farm" plan while looking through his mother's papers after her death. It appeared in the August 1952 issue of Woman's Day.

I know exactly what you are looking for as my Dad build one for me. Mine had wooden animals, fences, and bales of hay in addition to the large barn with working doors and other fine features. The silo dispensed jelly beans. I am trying to redraw the plans from memory as best I can. I do wish someone would scan the old issue and post them, but if I can get them draw up I will send them to you.
