Any Scroll Sawers Here?

Hi! Just found this site last week. Reading the posts, I get the impression you are all into larger projects than I. I do a lot of scrolling and am fortunate to have a shop near me that sells my items on consignment. I was just wondering if any of you are scrollers.

I just purchased a scroll saw, the DeWalt. Looking forward to many happy hours of scroll sawing. People here do a variety of things. I do mostly small stuff, music boxes, jewelry boxes and cutting boards, that sort of thing. I am about to build a coffee table for myself. First big piece I've ever attempted. I think you will find a little of everything here. Welcome and keep coming back.

Hello,
Yes, I do some scroll sawing, and, enjoy it. Just recently I finished a "Trivet" from a pattern in Scroll Saw Work Shop, made of corian. Since it was a wedding present, I personalized it with their names and the date of the wedding. Much to my surprise, it stayed quite nice. It was my first time working with Corian and I'm going to try making some other things. Have you made anything with this type of material?

I have been into scrollsawing for about 3 years now.I have the Delta 16 inch variable speed.Like everyone else,i am hoping one
day to get the Dewalt.I have been doing John Nelson clocks and also anything else that suits my fancy on any given moment.

The popular thing right now that i have been doing are candlelabra.I do them in oak or butternut.Have done about 6 or 7 and have 2 more on the go.Once i figure out how to post the pictures,i will....

Hey, just wanted to tell you I do some scroll saw stuff. I mostly use patterns from books that I have bought. I don't sell any of my projects, I give them as presents. I try to make each piece with the person I am making it for in mind. I love working on my scroll saw. I use mostly wood, and I try to stick to 1/2" or thinner. I recently started using a crown tooth blade, and I just love it. It has really cut my sanding almost out. My scroll saw is a Delta, variable speed. Happy scrolling!

I love to Scroll, my favorite projects are animal cutouts for the granchildren to paint. Most of the cutouts are puzzles and the kids just love them. The painting keeps them busy for hours.

Hello, I used the scrollsaw to rough cut horse patterns. I then carve them into various horses from size 2 to 12 inches. I make them into carousels, rockers, and freestanding horses. I have pics on my site. The addy is in my profile. What do you create?

Hi Connie,

I think its great that you scroll and certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Depending on how in depth you get into a project you may actually use more tools than most of the people with larger projects. I scroll and am a designer for Wildwood Designs. It's amazing how many tools I sometimes use. Happy Scrolling!
