Nice article featured in this months, June, WOODSHOP NEWS, written by Brian Caldwell, in regards to Women in Woodworking web site and forum. Below are some excerpts from the half page article.
Anne Rockler Jackson...."I think the women in woodworking are still pioneers. There are more of them and they are serious. These are power tool owners, they do sophisticated joinery, and they know about staining and finishing and clamping. So it runs the gamut from scroll saw to entertainment-center builders."
Jackson said more features will be added to the site. Recent questions posted on the Women in Woodworking forum concern a variety of topics, including router guides, finishing applications, joists in a garge, making a living from woodworking, dust mask and woodturning.
"The participants like the forum because they take woodworking quite seriously; they don't feel intimidated about asking questions," Rockler-Jackson said." "I believe it is fun to ask other women. I want to keep it theirs, so unless there is a piece of information that they're looking for, something that I could give to someone here, we tend to leave it. It's a very independent forum."
***Kudos to Ann for developing such an informative site and allowing us a forum to share our skills and interest....
Sincere regards, Dana
