I would like to know if any of the members here are Canadian. I have looked around alot and I can not find a site like this where Canadians meet. Anyone have any suggestions besides surfing the net? Thanks.

Hello Alcheka, There is a forum that has a section for Canadian woodworkers at http://www.netexperts.cc/~lambertm/discus/messages/board-topics.html I will tell you that I am the moderator of the woodturning forum there, but they do have a great forum for Canadian woodworkers. Best wishes, Dave http://www.bowlturner.com

I'm Canadian, recently moved into the States. I've found one very active Canadian woodworking forum, at www.canadianwoodworking.com. Lots of tips on where to get wood and tools in Canada. They typically get between 10-25 posts a day. I hope this link is useful.

You were looking for Woodworkers from Canada. Well I'm from Quebec and I work making the framing for sofas. I'm a cutter for the templates that are assembled for sofa and chair designs. I'm training next week on a CNC lathing machine.

Well nice to hear from you. Sounds like an interesting job. I find that most of the people on the internet are from the States. Not that this matters, most of the users on this site are very knowlegdable when it comes to woodworking.
I hope you'll keep coming back to the site, and good luck with your training on the lathe.

Hey,
Canada and the United States share the world's longest undefended border, co-operate on military campaigns and exercises, and are each other's largest trading partner. Canada nevertheless has an independent foreign policy, most notably maintaining full relations with Cuba and declining to participate in the Iraq War. Canada also maintains historic ties to the United Kingdom and France and to other former British and French colonies through Canada's membership in the Commonwealth of Nations and the Francophonie.Canada is noted for having a strong and positive relationship with the Netherlands, and the Dutch government traditionally gives tulips, a symbol of the Netherlands, to Canada each year in remembrance of the latter country's contribution to its liberation.Canadian culture has historically been influenced by British, French, and Aboriginal cultures and traditions. There are distinctive Aboriginal cultures, languages, art, and music spread across Canada. Many North American Indigenous words, inventions and games have become an everyday part of Canadian language and use. The canoe, snowshoes, the toboggan, lacrosse, tug of war, maple syrup and tobacco are examples of products, inventions and games. Some of the words include the barbecue, caribou, chipmunk, woodchuck, hammock, skunk, mahogany, hurricane and moose

Hi there
I just found this forum a while ago....I am a Canadian Woodworker in Victoria, British Columbia....how many other women woodworkers are out there....the work in the gallery is incredible. I build furniture using old doors, windows, old fir etc.....and love it. I have a simple shop and basic tools but I manage. I am in the process of putting together a diva magazine for women...or men...my blogsite, which is also just being constructed is daisyexpress.blogspot.com. Would love to have some feedback....thanks so much and I look forward to being part of this forum....Sheryl

I build custom furniture and kitchens in which I incorporate as much recycled material as the piece allows. I am currently in the works of publishing a creative diva woodworking magazine for women. I am the mother of a beautiful 9 month old daughter. Wow.....there is some wonderful talent in this forum. Thank you.

Can't say I'm a Canadian. I'm from Indianapolis, IN in the good ol' USA. Of course, if I go through Michigan, I'm about 10 hours away. That good enough? LOL.
Actually, I've been to Canada and it's absolutely lovely. I wish I could live there -- absolutely beautiful.

Hi alcheka:
There's lots of us woodworking Canucks out there. It's hard though to weed through the different websites to find forums that are 100% Canadian. But that's the joy of the worldwide web.
www.canadianwoodworking.com and www.canadianhomeworkshop.com both have pretty good, wide ranging forums.
I've been kind of frustrated trying to see if there's anything purely Canadian out there - and mostly because of the suppliers who frequently get mentioned in cross-border forums are U.S. based (like Rockler).
Good luck!
